Morning scenery and coffee time fun

How lucky I am to have a break in the middle of the week! To be able to stay here in front of a so beautiful landscape!

I can see the sparrows land in the tree next to my balcony, almost in front actually… Now the forsythia blooms disappeared and this morning there are these large blackbirds coming in in bands at times . They’re looking for food. I don’t know. It’s pretty cold today. Around three degrees from what I’ve heard from the news. I haven’t checked on the balcony… The flowers of the trees have almost gone by… The pear tree at the bottom of the yard is all green at the base.

Yes, yes there are three of them with a yellow peak, these large blackbirds… They’re just paying a visit, I know that.

They have orange paws (legs). It’s fun to see them. Although I wouldn’t like them to be constantly here, to pick on the wine in autumn for example. When it’s later in the season, they go further up in the mountain. There are typical birds from this region from the Alps. See: Alpine chough: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpine_chough

Yes, the other day, I think it was on Monday afternoon, while my students took a test, I composed a haiku looking at the trees . And today, what I see in my garden, looking down there is similar to what I was seeing from the classroom. That is these dark trunks make like breaks. These strong black lines are something special (I) can’t find the English word right now. But that’s what you have in a building for example, when on the the facade the paint breaks at certain places (Actually: crack, chink).

And these tree trunks and branches look like that, in the green – It was a bit yellow on Monday, and here it’s a bit it’s a mixture of white and bright green.

There is still the White Tooth at the back and the snow will stay for almost the whole year. The snow is melting on the Bear pist only a kind of tongue of snow remains because it is where snow cannons were used. You can see the hills (moguls) on the pist

I didn’t have such a good sleep. At least around four o’clock I was awake , thinking of the ‘cheek’ of some students and of their problems with my test. Had to check my conscience if I had done things properly. Which I did.

Yes now four of them. Five of them. blackbirds, six. Yes, 20 of them have disappeared. Just from my hitting the window pane. And this time again 10. Yes, (actually), that’s not necessarily funny. I don’t know why I did it. I could have looked at them. But it’s menacing, isn’t it? So many birds around… although they’re beautiful to see while hovering, their stretched feathers strangely spread on their wings. What a system, isn’t it? Just as being able to hover like that would be so beautiful. Mankind has dreamt of that and has managed it.

It’s a beautiful sight and even the bright blue sky this morning with almost no mist except very far away in front of the White Tooth and the Hérens valley. It is beautiful contrast this black of these birds against the sky.

So, I’m having coffee the way I like it just with sugar. It is just strong the way I like it. There was a whole theory from a man on the internet saying that you should never boil your coffee otherwise it gets the wrong taste which is true. But sometimes when it’s not just a bit boiled, then it lacks taste, it’s too flat to me, so I don’t pay attention so much and I continue making my coffee the way I’ve always had…

So I wish you all a very pleasant day. I’ll probably work in the garden a bit. I’ve got some administrative stuff to do on the computer.

And I should definitely go on with my paper, kind of a paper, in Arpitan (that) I am preparing every month. First I thought I could do it every two months. And I feel like editing it just because a man I came across the other day he told me he had kept the editions which had landed into his letterbox. This has motivated me again.

Although I could very well start a new format. I don’t know. Because there is little space it’s half an A4 page and I cut it in two, so the A4 page, and there is a large illustrations so there isn’t much space to write. I put a lot of references to the internet although it’s not necessarily a good thing to have so many references to the internet on a… such a small paper. I could, for example, have one reference to many other things on the internet and this would be an expanded edition of my small paper.

I called it “the sly guy’ “I Manyën”, and “i manyën” was a man belonging to that profession of repairing pans. They were very well known people, knew all about other countries and villages, towns. They were very well informed and considered sly because of that. So that’s the name of my magazine.

Incidentally I distributed the last edition in the form (by the number) of 250 in the letter boxes. Which was a bit much because when you distribute it it takes you something like three hours or rathertwo. But I thought it was a bit long. 1 hour and a half is enough for a walk to my taste, at least.

Some planes are crossing the sky above the “Dent Blanche”. The lines stay in the sky when these jumbo jets go through. I can see three of them, four of them, now . It’s strange, it depends on the height at which they fly. Sometimes the line doesn’t stay for very long. In this case only one line has stayed. So one plane to the left. One up(wards), one to the right, abd another one to the right.

The glacier is at the end of the Hérens Valley I should know what its name is . It eludes me just now (“Ferpèrcle“!).

There is a very soft light on it. There was snow yesterday suddenly and that’s why it all looks powered. It’s in the blue. This color makes it one with the sky. There are very few clouds that are going to accumulate, they told us, during the day, these clouds.

But it’s fun to see how mountains are the same color as the sky. So the contrast is rather between the green all around the house here. The background which is already a bit hazy, hazier, brown, a bit darker. The colors don’t come out very clearly. And behind the large ridge of the roundish cone in front near Hérémence. And I know there is a hamlet called the “cherry tree” or “the cherries”, simply, Cerise, “Cheryeje” in Arpitan

Yes beyond that ridge, there are these snow-covered mountains above 4000 meter high. They are far away very far away. You always have the impression they are close and you have the impression they are really next to each other but actually they are in a kind of a row. And yes, the white tooth is so distant that if you are in the Hérens valley, you still have the impression the White Tooth is extremely far away.

It’s actually near the Cervin or Matterhorn, the very famous mountain of Switzerland. I can see the top of the Matterhorn on the right hand side of the White Tooth. But it’s not impressive and not interesting from here. From here, the White Tooth is definitely more interesting.

Incidentally in the program TV program called “Passe-moi les jumelles” , ‘Give me the binoculars.’ It is a program about sights and people of Switzerland or of the Alps region made of very beautiful photographs and sights. At the start of that program Yes, the first image is the white tooth and the second one is the Matterhorn. So I was surprised for once they gave a better spot to the White Tooth. They put it into relief.

Okay, so I’ve been rambling this time. I’m just waking up. Not fully awake yet.

Greetings! And have a great day!

What have I done on Limor?

Goals, reflections on interactions…

It’s been a long time since I last recorded something in Limor. And I always wonder how I can get more views.

Is it actually my goal to be successful in that sense, to be popular? I don’t think it is. It’s not my way of being. I try to speak and have interesting thoughts for myself first. And if you aren’t like-minded it’s possibly difficult for you to find the same interests as I have.

What are my interests? Some balance in my life? Some fun in discovering things. Some dealing with language as well, because Arpitan is my passion.

It has been for now many years since… is it 2007? Yes. So 15 years, 16 years now. It was the language of my mother and of my grandmother. They used to speak it together. I was fascinated, but I’ve only learned it since 2007. Anyway!…

What have I tried describing or doing on Limor? I’ve mainly described some interesting moments to me. Some reflections. They aren’t controversial thoughts. They are not very well explained thoughts. Actually, I’m not very good at desscribing things at length and explicitly. I’m like flowing on my train of thoughts.

Sometimes yes, as Robin Milne used to say, my thing is just to whistle, to share descriptions of beautiful sights. And sometimes to share a melody I have composed, invented. Yes, things like that. I can also invent a song in relation to some words. Yes I like that very much because sometimes the text brings you somewhere. I’m not a music expert, but music has always been around me. My father used to be a music teacher. He is a pensioner now…

And pictures have always been around me. I’ve always taken pictures. Not always, but I started to have a kind of ambition a long time ago. Around 1994 – or even before – but then you didn’t have digital cameras. Now it’s easier. Everybody takes pictures and shares them.

I share them with Piwigo which is a fun app to share pictures on a website you can dispose of freely yourself, organize and then you have these photos to share. It doesn’t mean there are more interactions through a Piwigo website but it’s fun to collect your pictures there. People can download them easily at different sizes, which is a fun idea at least, this idea of sharing

Another thing which came to my mind recently was the fact that some people are passionate producers of whatever they start to deal with. That is, texts, pictures, paintings. I have a short span of attention and yes, I like impressions and dealing with them quickly. I recently discovered the fun of creating haikus. Haikus are delicate things. Because the number of syllables you write seems a very flimsy goal indeed. But at the same time, such a number of 17 syllables is a small unit, like an aquarella, a water color and it’s just an impression. It’s an impressionistic ideal to me.

But I should try some longer things because it’s very restrictive indeed to write haikus only.

So that’s all for today. I think that’s enough. I could certainly ramble. At least this time, I’ve had the impression I wasn’t rambling too much in the last 10 minutes.

Greetings from Dzakye from Switzerland. Goodbye!
